My First Time!

Please, don't be confused by the title this is not a blushing maidens memoir ,but a memoir of my first Lolita homemade outfit. Now I must say ,some of my outfit was bought and altered. I often go to thrift shops like Goodwill or other local (not very popular) hand-me-down stores. At my local Goodwill (now assisted by my grandmother being visited daily) I found a white vest covered in cute strawberries. Next my amazing find was a white woman's dress shirt with pretty details at the bottom of the sleeves.My plans in which are not finished is adding lace to the vest. I took a pair of my old white shorts and added red lace to the bottom followed by lovely (homemade) bows in which were delicately placed and sewed to the lace. 

I thought my outfit was not complete at all so I decided to (for the first time ever with no tutorial at all) make my first head dress! The base material is covered with cute half eaten fruit. Adding lace, bows, and the tie to hold it on my neck. Other things I have created will be shown below.

My Concept Of Lolita?

I studied Lolita for a while now realizing only a little bit about lolita. My point of view may be very different from yours or mine. I look at lolita as a release. A form of meditation of my childhood. I dress lolita because I feel it gives me freedom to stand above the crowd. I love lolita's sophisticated manor in which rises of the others. Lolita is something that can make you feel like a child again, making all your worries float away.
Lolita should not be mocked but admired. The graceful, beautiful, elegant lolitas.....

DARE 2 DARE!

Yesterday, I decided to take a trip to my local library and check out some Manga. Though my local library is small it does have a rather kickass manga & comic section , meaning Im about to do something very challenging! I grabbed as many manga's as I could including Vampire "Knight vol. 4/5/6", "Love Com vol. 5/6/8/9/10", "Girl Peach vol. 3", and the one that is not Japanese that caught my eye "Scott Pilgrim vol. 2." Saddly my little hands could not carry much more.
I have challenged my self to read as much manga as I can in 3 weeks. Well, at least the amount I checked out. As I finish these intence manga's ,I will write a review for each chapter of the manga story I finish.

Cosplay Or Kei?

KAMIKAZE GIRLS MOVIE REVIEW!

Today I was happy to find that in my mail box KG the Movie finally got here! At this time 3:46 I just finished KG with satisfaction! This movie is different from the anime because of a drag of story line. Other then being slightly slow this movie is very unique,funny,and random and that is why I like it!

If you haven't read Kamikaze Girls nor seen the movie ,I highly recommend watching the film first! Because I read the anime first ,I constintly missed out by pointing out what is different.
If you read the anime after you watch the film you will be reading a nice recap plus more of what happend in the film!

I love the Character's dramatic dialogue! I love the moral of the story!
This film I give a 8/10.
When watching DVD there is a special mode on special features wich when pressing a button on a picture of lettuce on the sceen ,you cut to a interesting tip or video unseen from the movie!
This movie is in subtitles so if you do not like reading do not watch. Other then the negative this movie is a unique piece!

To be a Japanese idol you must be pressure-proof. And what human is? Yukiko Okada, owner of the famed Yukko Smile (unless you count the fans and media as the real owners) was a Japanese idol who paid for her success.



What does it take to be a Japanese idol? You have to be cute. You have to be young. It helps if you are a girl. You'll have to devote your life to the media, whether it be for a few months or a few years. You'll be representing the 'ideal' Japanese body, so take care what you eat. No pressure.



Yukko Smile

Yukiko Okada is one of Japan's most iconic idols. She would have been forty-three years old this August. She was a singer and an actress who was adored for her smile (which in itself was nicknamed 'Yukko Smile' by fans).



As a child, Yukiko Okada showed an interest in art, spending her time reading comic books and drawing pictures. However when she entered high school, her passion changed to music, and she decided that she wanted to become a professional singer. Her determination was unstoppable. She applied for every audition she could find - from tiny talent recruitment companies to huge national competitions. Each and every time she was rejected, but she never gave up. In 1983, at the age of 15, she was finally accepted onto the television program 'Star Tanjo!', a Japanese talent show which was the equivalent of today's 'American Idol'. She won first prize.



This was the start of Okada's journey to idol-dom. Her debut single was released in April 1984, and she won several awards that same year. In 1985 she landed the main role in the science fiction drama 'Kinjirareta Mariko' ('The Forbidden Mariko') where she played a girl who possessed the sixth sense. As the series drew to a close, she became the face of Kanebo Cosmetics. She was the most famous woman in Japan.



Yukko Syndrome

In 1986, at the age of 18, Okada's mental health began to decline. On April 8th she was discovered sitting in a wardrobe in her gas-filled apartment in Tokyo. She had slashed her wrists. Two hours later she committed suicide by jumping from the seven story Sun Music Agency building. Nobody knows the exact cause of her depression - a lot of people suspect a lost love, but there are rumours that her mental health had been in serious decline since the start of the year.



That year saw the highest Japanese suicide rate of all time. Within two weeks of her death, thirty one Japanese teenagers had thrown themselves out of windows in an attempt to follow in the footsteps of their favourite idol. Okada's death had such an impact on the people of Japan, the phrase 'Yukko syndrome' is now frequently used to describe the phenomenon of copy-cat suicides.



Her devoted fan base has made it clear that she will never be forgotten. Twenty-four years on, the people of Japan have voted Okada as the 17th most important woman in history. However, it is heart-breaking that most people will remember her for her tragic death rather than the joyous music she made.

"Ponyo" 崖の上のポニョ, A fantastic story about a magical adorable fish that breaks free from the sea. Ponyo gets trapped :( and is rescued by a boy named Sōsuke. Sōsuke names this creature Ponyo.
Gake no Ue no Ponyo with litterally translates to "Ponyo on the Cliff" also untitled as "Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea"
This amazing films color casts you into a trance. Absorbing you into the film. Ponyo turns into a magical human who can do amazing things in a mater of seconds. Creator Hayoa Miyazaki, also creator of my other favorite movie "Spirted Away" shows how amazing his mind is. This film will make you feel like a child again! Lovers on anime will be impressed. Lovers of shojo anime will be adored by Ponyo's adorable behavior! I highly recommend watching this truly beautiful piece!
